Any ethics or compliance programme must be independently assessed and evaluated to ensure it remains effective.

The success of the programme – and ethical temperature of the organisation – should be tested through such means as employee attitudinal surveys, reports to ‘speak up’ hotlines, numbers of complaints about policy infractions, incentives earned and disciplinary actions taken.
